The Gallery

On a beautiful March afternoon Cassandra, Chris & I walked down Auburn Avenue scouting locations for their wedding day. I learned about Chris’s love for 90s rom-coms, and Cassandra’s ability to storytell. They both are drawn to warm woods and leathers. We learned that Cassandra is partial to sunsets and a focus on lighting would be a big part of the design. Unlike many of the couple’s we work with, they had clear vision—an intimate, non-traditional ceremony that celebrated the past, present, and future. A wedding with a “narrative arc” that told the story of their love in three acts, where “every detail is a story.” This is a dream couple for a creative director. They didn’t want to recreate an experience they found on social media, but wanted to incorporate the unique aspects of their story, their history, into an intimate moment with their closest friends and family.

Over the next few months, a location was decided on and designs were sent back and forth and edits were made. Finally, we landed on Sunday at The Solarium. An intimate ceremony in the round, an afternoon luncheon with coastal and Gullah Geechee influences, and a sunset reception bringing in warm tonal colors, Caribbean-inspired moments, and most importantly, dancing.

Creating this celebration with and for Cassandra & Chris has been a wonderful experience that has allowed me to push my creativity, spare no detail, and be incredibly intentional about every aspect of their wedding day from the color of the center of their ceremony, to the types of blooms in her bouquet, and the names of their signature cocktails. Again, every detail was produced with you in mind, so that you could experience this day with the couple.

As you browse through The Gallery, take a look at the some of the design elements that were incorporated in today’s celebration and learn why they were chosen, how they connect to the couple, their heritage, and their future together.

It has been an incredible honor to be able to be apart of their special day, and our team hopes you feel the same.
